You are invited to attend an Allergy Information evening with Guest speaker Suzanna Paxton.

Suzanna Paxton is the author of Allergy Safe Family Food, a licensed trainer in Asthma, Allergy & Anaphylaxis awareness and management, a Registered Division 1 Nurse with Midwifery and Acute Care qualifications and has an MBA. However, more importantly, she is the mother of two children with food allergies, both at risk of life threatening anaphylaxis and one diagnosed with asthma.

Nine foods cause 95% of allergy problems: peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk, soy, sesame seeds, gluten, wheat, fish and shellfish.
1 in 20 children and 1 in 100 adults suffer from food allergies;
1 in 100 have life threatening anaphylaxis. Australia has the highest allergy rate in the world.

You or your family may not have allergies, however it is very likely you or your children will be socializing with or catering for someone with allergies.

Throughout the evening Suzanna will explain to you

• What having a food allergy means;
• How you can help to reduce the risk of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) occurring;
• Easy tips on how to prepare allergy safe foods for a play date, party or sleep over.
